A View from Tara’s World: On Cleanliness

Tara’s grandparents came to visit last weekend.  They were appalled by the condition of the room she shares with her older sister.  Much to my surprise, their comments inspired her sister to do an amazing clean-up job, including reorganizing the drawers in her bureau.  She even found some presents she had forgotten about and got to experience Christmas all over again.  Now, all the things that belong to Tara are piled on the floor in heaps and stacks on her side of the room.

“You have to clean up,” big sister says a little righteously.  “It’s so disgusting…  Doesn’t it bother you?”

“No,” replies Tara with total equanimity.  “All that stuff keeps my feet warm!”
